"Glorious ones" - Elders
w08 11/15 p. 22 par. 9 - While "glorious ones," that is, Christian elders, have faults and may err at times, we must not speak abusively of them.
for those who were never a jw, here's a fun guide to passing yourself as one:.
privilege [priv-lij] - a duty nobody would volunteer to do which is assigned to you without your say so.
such as cleaning the toilets, picking up other brats candy wrappers in the back row and being stuck on locking up duty for the 7th time in a row.. df'd [dee-eff'd] - disfellowshipped.

the statement in the article "who is leading gods people today?
" in the feb 17th study edition of the wt is very interesting.. it states: ""the g.b.
is neither inspired nor infallible" ..we can err .in doctrinal matters....".
More weasel words from a weasel corporation - priming the flock for further changes.
Maybe the org is getting ready to point the finger at the deceased Brooklyn hierarchy for sending out wrong instructions to elders on how to deal with pedophiles, and in future, elders should advise parents to report such accusations to the police, as it's a crime.
The 1914 teaching is the foundation stone of the WTBTS's teaching that they were selected as God's chosen people and faithful slave. Hard to see them ditching that one - but we can hope.
so the wife and i were uninvited to another jw get together which we didn't want to go to anyways.
finally we find out that something on my facebook account is getting some people's in my old halls undies in a bunch.
so i was thinking of meeting with them to at least clear my wife's name and give them some much needed hell.
Darknight - never lose sight of the fact that your in-laws, elders, and the rest of mankind are not entitled to an "explanation" from you!!
My favourite phrase for potential predators - "It's private and personal, but thanks for asking."
Draw a line in the sand. They'll get it!

I'm with Punkofnice on this one - meeting with them merely dignifies and validates their power and control.
If they've got something on you, you'll hear from them soon enough.
Personally, I will point-blank refuse to have a "discussion" with two elders for any reason.
Being ignored by them is much better than the alternative.
Only you can decide what's best for your household. Wish you well.
an org myth debunked - by the book they claim to have a better understanding of, than other religions.wt14 11/15 p. 30 - who are the two witnesses mentioned in revelation chapter 11?.
"......the account refers to god’s anointed ones who took the lead during a difficult time of testing.. so in the fulfillment of revelation chapter 11, the anointed brothers who took the lead at the time of the establishment of god’s kingdom in heaven in 1914 preached "in sackcloth" for three and a half years.
at the end of their preaching in sackcloth, these anointed ones were symbolically killed when they were thrown into prison for a comparatively shorter period of time, a symbolic three and a half days.

However, true to the words of the prophecy, :) at the end of the three and a half days, the two witnesses were brought back to life. Not only were these anointed ones released from prison but those who remained faithful received a special appointment from God through their Lord, Jesus Christ. In 1919 they were among those who were appointed to serve as a "faithful and discreet slave" to care for the spiritual needs of God’s people during the last days."—Matt. 24:45-47; Rev. 11:11,12.
Revelation 11:7 says that it is "the wild beast that ascends out of the abyss" which kills the 'two witnesses'.
Revelation 17:8 gives us more information about this beast by describing it as "the wild beast that you saw was, but is not, and yet is about to ascend out of the abyss...."
Revelation 17:8 is interpreted by the org as representing the League of Nations, followed by the rise of the United Nations. (Revelation Book chap. 34 pp. 247-248)
According to the Bible, the 'two witnesses' (allegedly Rutherforford et al) would be killed by the beast which ascends out of the abyss, and as every J.W. will tell you, that beast is the United Nations.
The United Nations was formed in 1945 - 26 years after Rutherford & Co. were freed from prison!
Will the U.N. dig up Rutherford's corpse and incinerate it? Time for a "new light" on this one?
so if the gb changed its "bible based beliefs" on some teaching, would witnesses all of a sudden change their individual beliefs too?.
witnesses like to claim that "their bible trained hearts and minds" make them believe as they do, but we know that the reality is that all witnesses hold their "deep seated beliefs" according to what they have been told to believe.. so what would cause the average witness to question those that dictate their "personal convictions"??.
thoughts?.
@ stuckinarut2 - The majority of J.W.'s will simply and silently accept any reversal of long-held "truths" by the org - no matter how radical they may be.
However, as I reckon the R & F are very agitated by the org's incessant "requests" and "suggestions" for donations, the org could really waken up a multitude of J.W.'s by demanding money from them in a regulated and monitored fashion. (I'll bet the Magnificent 7 have discussed such a scenario at their weekly conclave)
this is my first post.
as i am currently disfellowshipped, i have no one else to discuss these things with.
even if i was actively associated with the dubs, i suppose i'd still have no one else to discuss this with.
Welcome UNBELIEVER.
D/f'd and still attending? You must have a strong constitution!
my wife just asked me this.
my answer, in no uncertain terms, is no.
we both grew up in the dub religion.
@ schnell - being the optimist, it sounds as if your wife is not too far away from fully waking up.
Her cuddly phrase, "the organization's faults" is used by J.W.'s to show that their org is imperfect, in order to mitigate any serious accusations against them.
A better phrase to use would be "critical flaws" - in order to highlight that many of the org's teachings and practices are not un-scriptural, but anti-scriptural.
Anything not mentioned in scriptures is by definition un-scriptural, (e.g. hamsters) but teachings & practices which pervert scriptures are anti-scriptural, and by extension, anti-Christ.
If any J.W. accuses me in future of being "negative" about the org, I'll reply that I'm pointing out critical flaws - which we are not allowed to discuss with anyone!

Incidents:
38. When property damage occurs, quick action can go far in preventing further damage. Break-ins, thefts, incidents of arson, or other acts of vandalism should be promptly reported to the local authorities.
However, if a child is raped by a J.W., such a matter should not be "promptly reported" to the local authorities in order to "prevent further damage." Rather, the elders must contact the Branch Office in order to seek advice on how to deal with the situation.
Such self-incriminating statements should prove to J.W. parents (and the world!) that the org's real estate empire is far more important than their children's lives!
Perhaps such a document should be referred to the A.R.C. for their edification.
